Edgar Casey's prophecy: in 2036 we will face a comet apocalypse

Edgar Casey, America's ‘Sleeping Prophet,’ was perhaps the most famous clairvoyant of the 20th century. For nearly 43 years, beginning in 1901 when he gave his first ‘reading,’ Casey entered a trance-like state and diagnosed the physical and mental ailments of people who sought his help and prescribed remarkably effective treatments.

Casey's working method was simple. He would lie down on the couch, sigh deeply, and almost instantly enter a trance state. The attendant would then read out the name and location of the person in need of healing and specify his or her symptoms. The ‘trance personality’ would then dictate the diagnosis and treatment, which the attendant would write down. Casey didn't even need to be physically present in the same room with his patient. All he needed was the person's name and location, and he could track them down in the trance state. If a mistake was made in the house number, Casey would report that the patient was not there.

Two things were important for an effective ‘reading’; the attendant must not move away from the body during the trance, and at the end of the reading, the attendant must give the body a command to awaken.

On the surface Casey was completely unaware of the amazing things he was saying during the trance. When he read the transcripts after the reading, ‘they astounded him.’ He had only been in school until the eighth grade and knew nothing about medicine, anatomy, chemistry, physics, occultism, and metaphysics until the trance sessions introduced him to these subjects.

Most people came to him after all other treatments had failed. He was their last hope. Despite such critical cases, Casey's remedies were always effective if strictly followed. His biographer Thomas Sugrue assures that ‘there are hundreds of people in the United States who will attest at any time to the accuracy of his diagnoses and the efficacy of his treatment suggestions.’

Casey also made a number of predictions about coming earth changes and the return of the Messiah. Many people tend to think that the dates of the predicted events have already passed, and therefore his words are not true. But if we examine them more closely, it becomes obvious that not only have the predicted dates not yet passed, but they give us grim warnings of a devastating comet apocalypse that is to occur in the near future, changing our world beyond recognition.

In one of his ‘readings’ Casey said that earthly changes will begin to manifest beginning in 1998, as we continue to move toward the Age of Aquarius as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. However, the changes during this period will not be catastrophic, but will manifest gradually. In another reading, he stated that the main drivers of the changes manifested in 1998 would be ‘the deterioration of some conditions in the South Pacific and the Mediterranean region’.

Curious, did any climate event occur in 1998 as predicted by Casey? Indeed, something rather strange and out of the ordinary did happen that year, although few people know or talk about it.

In 1998, there was a dramatic jump in the average surface temperature of the Earth, making 1998 the warmest year on record (until that year, of course). This in itself is not surprising, given that new temperature records are set almost every year, and 1998 was the 20th consecutive year in which the surface of the globe was warmer than its recent long-term average, which is the average between 1961 and 1990.

What surprised scientists was how dramatically temperatures rose in 1998. It was the ‘largest annual jump’ in global average surface temperature in recorded history.

In all these readings, Casey refers to the 36th year as a time of ‘apocalyptic earth changes’ and the return of the Saviour or Avatar. But what did he really mean by the 36th year? Most 20th century scholars assumed that the 36th year referred to 1936, and based on this assumption they had no trouble concluding that Casey either mentioned the date by mistake or completely misidentified it.

But, come to think of it, why would Casey in 1934 make predictions about the coming of the Messiah just two years later, in 1936, when he had, in fact, made a number of stunningly accurate predictions about World War II? If the coming of the Messiah had been planned for 1936, there could have been no question of further global conflict after that point. It is useful to remember that, although Casey's readings are spread out over many years, there was a remarkable internal consistency in them. He - or rather, his trance personality - almost never contradicted himself on any issue.

What if Casey wasn't talking about 1936 but 2036, exactly a century later? If gradual changes on Earth were to begin in 1998, it is most logical to believe that Casey was referring to 2036 as a time of epochal change.

Let's summarize what Casey said could happen this year. He stated that Earth changes in 2036 will be initiated by ‘external forces’ that will upset ‘the equilibrium of the Earth itself in space,’ and as a result, ‘the Sun will darken and the Earth will split in various places,’ followed by the appearance of ‘His Star.’ Clearly, these events can only be caused by a series of devastating comet and meteor strikes. Comet bombardments can upset the Earth's equilibrium in space, meteor dust can obscure the light of the Sun, and collisions can destroy continental shelves. The appearance of ‘His star’ in the heavens may mean that we will see a particularly bright comet that will serve as a ‘messenger’ or ‘symbol’ of the Saviour.

In other words, these readings contain all the hallmarks of a catastrophic comet apocalypse in 2036. Even more intriguing is that it is in 2036 that the Earth is expected to pass through the dense core of the Taurid meteor stream, which contains a large number of colossal, ‘dormant’ comets and full-sized asteroids that have struck the Earth in the past with devastating consequences.

Many prophecies about the end of the world have direct references to the coming period of Ekpyrosis. For example, the prophecy of the Kalachakra Tantra states that after the divine saviour Rudra Chakrin destroys the forces of evil in an apocalyptic battle, he will grant a ‘perfect age’ for at least ‘a thousand years’, during which ‘the whole world will become Shambhala, where there will be no disease, no poverty, and no need to work to earn a living’.

This is consistent with Biblical Revelation, according to which after the Second Coming Christ will reign for ‘a thousand years’ with resurrected holy men. Both of these prophecies appear to be telling us of a 1200-year transitional period called Ekpyrosis that will follow the Kali Yuga before the upward cycle of Yuga begins.

Although the 1200-year period of Ekpyrosis will be a time of significant changes on Earth and periodic comet impacts, it will be an amazing time for the lives of those who survive the impending apocalyptic events that will likely culminate in 2036.
