In this article, I want to break down exactly the personal characteristics of Donald Trump, his psych type, personality, etc.

Trump belongs to a vividly hyperintense, manic personality type, with some traits of demonstrativeness and hybridism. A bright extrovert according to C. G. Jung. Representative of a person with a developed first signal system. True, there are traits of some other personality types, but not very bright and juicy. Perhaps they were brought from outside, in the course of his development as a person. However, let's talk about everything in order. We will parse separate stages of biography with comments on these or those psychological aspects.

Childhood and adolescence

As a child, Donald Trump, if his many biographies, including on Wikipedia, are to be believed, was a very active and energetic child. You know, the catastrophic child? He started having problems at school, so much so that eventually he had to be transferred to a private cadet corps. By the way, his studies there did him good: he managed to direct his frantic energy, which is undoubtedly connected with his psych typical features, in the right direction (I don't know exactly, but most likely he was brought up there by strict teachers, maybe even anankastes). So, for example, during that period Trump achieved sporting successes. Moreover, we know that even then his organizational skills showed themselves: he achieved the title of ‘coach’ in sports, was able to organize other students. They once staged an organized march in New York to celebrate an event. Such traits as frenzied energy, organization of others, desire to reach heights, speak of an undoubted hyper intimal accentuation. I have not yet prepared a separate article on this type, but I think it will be out very soon!

Higher education. Formation

During this period, we similarly observe a lot of interesting and important for making a portrait. Donald Trump initially went to study, including at the insistent requests of his relatives, on a real estate specialist, although he really wanted to go to film school (this moment is interesting! Let's remember about hysteroids, they are representatives of the demonstrative type of personality). He studied for a while, but by his admission, he realized that it was as if he had not studied at all. Later, however, he found a compromise - he entered and studied at the Faculty of Business, which he was very happy about. I even know why: it is a specialty where you can combine your organizational skills and realize yourself as a leader, while also engaging in the ‘showmanship’ that ‘demonstrative’/hysteroid people love so much.

Donald Trump comes from a wealthy family. His relatives had a family business connected with real estate. It so happened that Trump, while still studying at university, took up the family business, and he took it seriously. He managed to make several profitable deals, and also, which is very interesting to us from a psychological point of view, even then, in the early days, he used one of his favourite tactics: to take an unprofitable project, to understand the reasons for the failure, to bring everything to a respectable form, and if they do not give, to trumpet and ring all the bells (there were several scandals in the press, when the city hall refused to assist). Then, the project was promoted and sold. There have been other interesting projects where Trump has taken on public facilities that originally had inflated cost estimates, and cheapened the project.... sometimes several times over. This was the basis for the promotion, political capital, and the accretion of wealth. What is interesting to us in this story is the economic activity (this says a lot), as well as the ability and willingness to solve issues in non-standard ways, with the involvement of the public. What is this but extroversion in its brightest manifestation?

Further Career. Business

I will not describe the entire further business biography of Trump. I will note such moments, that sometimes for the benefit of the general cause it was necessary to resort to ‘white lies’. For example, Donald had real estate deals with Jews - this was in New York, a city where Jewish positions are very strong historically. So, in those days, they were very prejudiced against Americans who were ethnic Germans, and Trump was just one of them. His grandfather was from Germany. I had to lie, I had to say I was from Sweden. It should also be noted that Donald Trump is a great negotiator. A master of deals (by the way, there is a good book by his authorship, called ‘The Art of Making Deals’). So, Trump, because he often made risky leveraged deals, got into trouble with bankers. He managed to negotiate with them in such a way that he not only did not go bankrupt, although there was a threat of bankruptcy, but also increased his capital! How did he manage? Well, it was in the early 90s, there was such a theme that bankers were losing their influence in the country, they were blamed for all sins. There was a great chance of getting nothing if you went to court, so it was easier to negotiate, and Donald was a bargainer. As it turned out, the negotiations benefited all parties.

What does that tell you? Good ‘wordsmanship’, the ability to smooth over sharp corners, a well-developed upper sector (where the mouth and mental centers responsible for speech are).

So, let's summarise some results. However, before that, I will give some definitions, since the article about the listed types is not ready yet.

Hyperintimacy is a special type of personality, characterized by usually elevated (not to be confused with joy, although it is also possible!), excited mood, increased physical and mental activity, acceleration of the brain. In principle, this also includes classic mania, also called hypomania. Hypomania is just a manifestation of hyperintimacy and manic traits (not to be confused with the bad word ‘maniac’), but in the aggregate and in an accentuated form, without pathology. By the way, Donald Trump, as they say in his entourage, can sometimes stay awake for days at a time, working. This also speaks of a lot, since these are typical traits in overexcitation of the brain.

Really, I'll be honest in saying that Trump is a very flamboyant type. In places it's frankly beyond even the boldest norms.

The demonstrative traits of his personality we have, I think, sorted out. True, I don't see very strong brightness here. Rather, these traits additionally act on the main accentuation - hyperthymia. This is very often the case, as there are no pure types. There are always 2-3 accentuations acting, some waking up according to the situation.

Now about heboidism. Who is a heboid (also called in some sources ‘Dissocial Personality Disorder’)? This is also one of the accentuations, the truth on the edge, when behavior deviates strongly from social and moral norms. Roughly speaking, it is risk-taking and hooliganism in one bottle. Heboidity has several manifestations, subspecies. One of them happens when combined with a demonstrative personality type, called ‘Risky sociopath’ (this terminology was used by the scientist, Theodore Millon). What is it characterized by? It is characterized by boldness, fearlessness, living a ‘blade-walking’ and ‘edge-of-the-foul’ lifestyle. Trump has done many things in this style. I think that this way gives him additional energy, motivation.

Are there other traits in Trump's personality traits? I think there are some from anankastes. I doubt it's natural. More likely the result of upbringing, the influence of adults on him at the time of formation as a person. This is evidenced by neatness, business style and manners, some attitudes, like refusal of alcoholic beverages.
